Abstract

Accelerated outdoor weathering has a history which extends back at least 50 years into the early part of this century. In recent years though, this technique has matured and improved. Through standards, improvements have been made in the measurement of ultraviolet irradiance, improved reflectors, better quality water used to spray test specimens, and new cycles for improved correlation to real-time exposures. New developments recently introduced promise to allow further improvements to this test method.
