Abstract

Determining the cause or causes of leaks, isolating the problem components and details, and verifying the efficacy of remedial measures, requires systematic diagnostic procedures. Documentation of the damage, evaluation of project documents, determination of as-built conditions, and testing, are necessary steps in a comprehensive program. Discussed are the evaluation and testing procedures, masking techniques, disassembly and inspection procedures, etc., which have proven useful as part of solving leakage problems. Particular emphasis is placed on testing procedures which are adaptable to use on-site.
