Abstract

Actinide element isotope ratios have been determined in environmental samples using high resolution ICP-MS with ultrasonic nebulisation. Precisions as low as 0.1% RSD have been achieved using various methods of acquisition. The methodology has been used for environmental monitoring of uranium isotope ratios as an indicator of nuclear activity. Also, it has been applied to calcite dating studies as a measure of past geochemical disturbances.
