Abstract

Metor walk-through metal detectors, produced by Outokumpu Electronics, have been on the market since the security application first started more than 20 years ago. But because of increased terrorist activity, rapid handgun development, and increased electromagnetic “pollution,” the performance requirements of metal detectors today are much more complex than 20 years ago, requiring solutions that are extremely research intensive.
