Abstract

RILEM TC Characterization of old mortars with respect to their repair was established in the fall of 1996. Its objectives are for the establishment of general performance criteria and recommendations dealing with mortars for restoring and repairing existing masonry. The deliverables of the committee will take into account: 1. Characterization of old mortars in order to reproduce similar mortars for restoration and repair; 2. Identification of fundamental parameters and standardization of testing methods for measuring them.
