    Abstract

    Flame-retardant nylons and PBT have been used in the electrical and electronic industry for many years. To flame retard these materials, halogens can be used with different synergists. The choice of synergist and also the halogen flame retardant has a great effect on one of the electrical properties, the comparative tracking index (CTI). The choice of resin, PBT, nylon 6 or nylon 66 also has an effect on the CTI.
