Abstract

Advanced control techniques and a test setup designed for direct shear testing allow new types of test procedures, adjusted to specific problems, to be performed. Digitally controlled shear tests like multiple failure tests or tests with constant normal stiffness conditions open up a wide range of test procedures to determine shear parameters. Some test procedures and test results are presented in this paper.
