The thermal performance for a wide range of upholstery fabrics made in various weights and fiber types has been studied. A cone calorimeter was utilized for this work using simulated furniture mockups of cover fabric, with and without Kevlar Z-11 fire blocker fabric and foam. Results are discussed with regard to heat release characteristics and relative performance of various components.
