    Abstract

    This paper presents a special purpose finite element program developed on microcomputers for the analysis and design of adhesives joints. The Program “Joint Design” has been completely developed for the design of adhesives joints. It is planned and adapted for them with the following major features: i) the use of mixed interface finite elements, ii) significant decrease of computational time, iii) interactive user friendly package making possible the use of the program by designers with little or no knowledge of internal structure and methods.
