Abstract

Irradiation experiments were conducted to determine the effect of radiation on the properties of 16MnD5 material from a simulate Chinese 600 MW nuclear power plant reactor pressure vessel ring forging. Irradiation experiments were conducted to compare the performance of the 16MnD5 samples to samples of American Society for Testing and Materials Specification A508-class 3 material. The results showed that the radiation effects on the 16MnD5 material were less than those exhibited by the A505-class 3 material.
