Abstract

FKM fluoroelastomers have been among the more compatible of soft goods for use in oxidizer systems. In recent years a number of new formulations have become available. Test data assessing oxygen compatibility for several recent formulations is compared with historical formulations. Comparisons are also noted between FKM, FFKM, and traditional elastomers. General conclusions on oxygen compatibility of FKM elastomers are drawn with respect to filler materials and fluorine content.
