Abstract

Avermectins are fermentation products with unique insecticidal properties which are useful in crop protection, animal health and human health. In this study, the degradation kinetics of MK-0244, a potent lepidoptericidal avermectin, were examined over a range of temperatures in selected solvents useful in crop protection. Data on initial solvolysis rates were used to obtain mechanistic and kinetic information about the degradation of MK-0244 under solvolytic conditions.
