Abstract

High concentration extruded water dispersible granules (WG) can be processed using styrene acrylic and modified styrene acrylic dispersants at formulation concentrations usually found in wettable powder formulations: 3–7 % (w/w). These dispersants have found application with a wide range of active ingredients at concentrations ranging from 75% to >90% (w/w) of technical grade active ingredient. Extruded granule formulations containing these dispersants demonstrate excellent granule disintegration and physical suspension upon dilution both initially and upon extended storage at elevated temperatures. Experimental design techniques have also been identified which dramatically shorten the product development time frame.
