These surfactants are widely used in spreader-sticker-wetter type adjuvants, and crop oil emulsifiers. The selection of surfactant is based on cost, efficacy and phytotoxicity. A relatively unexplored group of branched C alcohol (DDA) ethoxylates offers exceptional wetting performance with relatively low phytotoxicity. The physical and surface properties important to the selection of a surfactant for use in a formulation indicate that the DDA ethoxylates would also be good candidates for use as emulsifiers in Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) and in Microemulsion (ME) products.
