Abstract

Considerable experience has been gained in the use of a filter-paper source technique for X-ray counting of 93mNb from dissolved niobium dosimeters irradiated in steel irradiation rigs. An alternative method of activity measurement has been investigated using liquid scintillation spectrometry. This more sensitive technique has been assessed and compared with the X-ray counting technique for aspects such as detector calibration, interferences, and overall ease of operation.
