Abstract

This chapter provides and defines several tools used for process control. The process controls discussed work for either manufacturing or service processes. Included are guidelines for statistical quality control, Lean Manufacturing, and Six-Sigma. The tools under Statistical Quality Control are descriptive statistics, histograms, SPC, Gauge analysis, variable and attribute control charting, cause and effect diagrams, and Pareto analysis. In the discussion on Lean Manufacturing, topics include. The five-s process, Kanban, and Poka-yoke. Six-Sigma is briefly discussed by providing definitions of DMAIC and DMADV.
