This chapter discusses the importance of developing a Strategic Plan that is tied in with the organization’s Quality Policy. Tools to implement the strategic plans are detailed and include Flow Charts and Analysis, FMEA for product or service, and Control Plans. The process that ties the three tools together is the Service/Product Quality Plan (SPQP). The SPQP is defined and explained in the Futuristic Quality Planning section of this chapter. Real examples from companies for which I have worked are provided to demonstrate the construction of each strategic planning tool.
