Site reconnaissance is required by the Standard. E 1527 uses two terms associated with site inspection. They are Site Visit and Site Reconnaissance. Site visit can be considered as a subset of site reconnaissance. Site visit generally refers to inspection activities of the subject property. Site reconnaissance includes those activities but expands the event to the analysis of site visit information in concert with other information in identifying recognized environmental conditions (RECs).
