Abstract

ELECTROLYTIC POLISHING OR ELECTROPOLISHING (ANODIC POLISHING) is a polishing method whereby the specimen is placed as an anode in an electrolytic cell and the electrolysis establishes a surface suitable for metallographic analysis.
