SUBCOMMITTEE A01.06 ON STEEL FORGINGS AND billits has jurisdiction over some specific test methods and practices that are peculiar to forgings and that differ in some important respects from the hardness test methods and nondestructive examination standards that are the responsibility of other ASTM committees, such as E-28 on Mechanical Testing and E-7 on Nondestructive Examination. These special test methods and practices will be discussed first, before going on to look at the product specifications.
