Abstract

The objective of a proper surface preparation process is to remove all visible and invisible contaminants thereby providing a sound foundation for the intended lining system. The cleaning process should remove all loose matter, rust, scale, graphitization, chlorides, and produce a uniform surface, conductive to coating longevity.
