    Pumps serve to draw cooling water from the power plant's intake structure, and circulate the cooling water through the various componnents of the power plant's cooling water system. They are critical to the cooling process in the plant and need to be protected from the effects of corrosion, cavitation, erosion and mechanical abuse.
