Abstract

Small fatigue crack growth data for the aluminum alloy 6061-T651 are analyzed to obtain confidence intervals for the mean crack growth rate as a function of crack length. Results of an extrapolation procedure are presented to illustrate how variations in crack size and elapsed load cycles in the early stages of crack growth may be examined.
