The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) entered into a partnership with ASTM (Committee F-12 on Security Systems and Equipment) to conduct the Sixth International Civil Aviation Security Conference (AVSEC'93), held on 26–28 October 1993 in Washington, DC.
