    Abstract

    Using graphical user interface (GUI) and a database management system, the system described here monitors the structural integrity of industrial buildings. This paper examines the nature of GUI design as practiced in the computer industry and its suitability for application of monitoring structural integrity. The GUI design, database management, graphical editing, and implementation of the load monitoring system are presented.
