Abstract

This paper examines the subject of elastic strain, creep, and their recoveries in mortars. An experimental program, outlined in an earlier issue of this journal, was undertaken to study the behaviors of mortars alone. Results indicated that the lime component directly and favorably affects movement in mortars. The obtained data were studied further, particularly the early minutes under compression, to determine if prior conclusions held firm and to continue to add to existing knowledge of mortars and their properties.
