Abstract

A biaxial fatigue rig has been developed to study failure under low cycle fatigue conditions. The tubular specimen can be subjected to axial load, torque, and internal pressure enabling a wide range of stress/strain states to be obtained under strain-controlled conditions. A four zone furnace has been developed for elevated temperature tests, while allowing strains to be measured from the gauge length.
