Abstract
The double torsion technique offers a simple method of studying crack propagation in adhesive layers. The method has been applied successfully to obtain crack-velocity versus crack-extension-force curves for fracture in bonds constructed from an epoxy and a nylon-impregnated adhesive. The thickness of the adhesive layer is found to have a significant effect on the fracture behavior.
