The Particle-Size Distribution in AC Fine Test Dust

Abstract

AC test dust is widely used in studying the performance of filter media; however, controversy exists over what constitutes the actual particle-size distribution in the fine-grade material. Presented here are (1) an explanation of the difference of opinion regarding this distribution, (2) an example of problems that will arise because of the difference in opinions, and (3) a plea for workers in this field to resolve this difference.
