Abstract
This paper describes the application of instrumental methods of gas analysis for the on-line characterization and control of corrosive high temperature environments. By way of example, experimental techniques for the treatment of combustion products and pyrolysis and reformer environments are presented. Methods for broadening the usefulness of gas chromatography and other instrumental measurements, along with practical gas handling techniques, are discussed.
