    Abstract

    New methods for determining the tensile strength of block concrete are described. Results of tests on the tensile strength and elastic stiffness are reported and found to parallel the results of test data developed on structural cast-in-place concrete. Maximum strain relationships (extensibility) are compared for various concrete densities. Production control of the physical properties of block concrete are described and recommendations for future research and change of ASTM requirements are listed.
