Abstract

A modification of the ASTM Test for Hydrolytic Stability of Hydraulic Fluids (Beverage Bottle Test Method) [D 2619-67 (1972)] is proposed to permit the application to fluids with specific gravities near to that of water. Data obtained in applying this modification to MIL-L-23699 “Lubricating Oil, Aircraft Turbine Engine, Synthetic Base” are presented.
