Abstract

A simple technique based on the acoustic impact method is described for measuring the longitudinal, transverse, and torsional vibration modes of concrete. The results are in excellent agreement with the standard ASTM C 215-60 procedure of forced vibration for determining the resonant frequencies. It is suggested that the acoustic impact method be considered an alternative to the standard technique.
