    Abstract

    This method applies classic microchemical technique, eliminating entirely the transfer of sample materials during analysis. Respirable sized granite dust is analyzed for quartz content colorimetrically. The relative standard error of the determination of quartz in granite, using this method, is 14.7 percent.
