Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show the similarity between the heat treatment responses of Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn, and Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V. Two hardening mechanisms can account for most of the responses to heat treatment. The changes in strength as the result of heat treatment are correlated with the equilibrium alloy contents of the phases present at the solution temperature.
