Abstract

When developing a granular pesticide formulation, the choice of an appropriate particle size is crucial. Particle size may or may not affect the desired performance parameters. Some of the properties to consider are sorptivity, bulk density, particle count per unit weight, hardness, drift potential, and application pattern. Depending on the nature of the carrier, particle size has little effect on bulk density and sorptivity. Particle size affects particle count per unit weight, drift potential, and possibly application pattern.
