Abstract
This paper discusses a suite of regulatory actions and decisions made by the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Pesticide Programs for the regulation of inert ingredients used in pesticidal products. It describes the framework of the Joint Inerts Task Force and corresponding cluster teams, which was formed by industry suppliers and registrants to address data gaps and submit tolerance exemptions petitions to comply with regulatory requirements for groups of co-formulants. Finally, it describes the risk assessment process used for recent 2009 decisions.
