Abstract

This paper presents and discusses furnace temperature and heat flux measurements in a fire resistance floor furnace controlled by ASTM shielded thermocouple probes, ISO 834 plate thermometers, directional flame thermometers, and bare bead thermocouples. Comparisons of furnace temperature measurements, temperature sensor time constants; incident heat flux and measured versus predicted incident heat flux are presented.
