Abstract

Recently, the validity of Hvorslev’s shape factors for constant-head tests has been questioned. The present note shows that the discrepancy between the recently proposed relationship and those of Hvorslev is due to different definitions of the aspect ratio. It is also indicated that the proposed relationship cannot be extended to short porous probes.
