    Abstract

New equipment and techniques for use with the Cambridge self-boring pressuremeter have been developed. These include a trailer mounted rig, which supports and transports all the equipment necessary to penetrate the self-boring pressuremeter to test depth, a self-casing technique for use in cohesionless soils where there is a danger of borehole collapse, a portable cassette unit for recording field data and dumping to a main computer, and a data reduction program.
