Abstract

The purpose of this proposed standard is to standardize the specifications and procedures for tolerance checks that are required in several ASTM standards involving compression testing of rock core. Some of the material in this standard already appears in ASTM Test for Triaxial Compressive Strength of Undrained Rock Core Specimens Without Pore Pressure Measurements (D 2664), Test for Direct Tensile Strength of Intact Rock Core Specimens (D 2936), Test for Unconfined Compressive Strength of Intact Rock Core Specimens (D 2938), and Test for Elastic Moduli of Intact Rock Core Specimens in Uniaxial Compression (D 3148).
