Abstract

Equipment has been developed to facilitate supplying a soil column with water or draining a soil column under conditions of constant head while the soil column is under centrifugal forces in a geotechnical centrifuge. Accurate monitoring of the water mass transfer is also facilitated by the equipment. At the completion of a modelling sequence, the soil column may be partitioned for moisture content and chemical analysis with minimal disruption of the moisture content profile. Some preliminary modelling results are included in the paper.
