Abstract
A laboratory method is presented for determining the distribution of opening sizes within initially water saturated geotextiles under simulated soil loading, the principle being to measure air entry values over a range of applied suctions. Construction and use of the apparatus concerned are outlined while the analysis of data so obtained is given in detail. Results from two geotextiles are presented, and a comparison is made with data obtained by another method.
