Abstract

A field measurement system is described for determining strains in buried flexible pipes. The microprocessor-based system obtains data that is subsequently analyzed on minicomputers or mainframe machines. The field system is also capable of analyzing the data using its own microprocessor provided that a graphics terminal is available. Numerical algorithms for analyzing the data are developed, and typical results are presented.
