Abstract

Blood samples from healthy and unrelated individuals (n=135–150) were extracted by Chelex 100 procedure (1). DNA samples (5–25 ng) were amplified in a “PCR sprint” (Hybaid) thermal cycler and typed-classified according to the DNA commission of the ISFH (2). Allele and genotype frequencies were determined and Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was tested by aX2 method. From the genotype data, the power of discrimination (PD) according to the equation suggested by Fisher (3) was calculated. The heterozigosity value (OH) as described by Nei and Roychoudhury (4) was determined.
