Abstract

Small-angle light scattering (SALS) was shown to be a suitable analytical method for characterizing submicrogram-sized samples of single textile fibers. Fibers from a variety of different generic groups were examined by SALS and produced widely differing scattering patterns. These differences were of such magnitude as to allow discrimination between all fibers examined.
