Abstract
A procedure for the separation and identification of the major components of the military plastic explosive composition C-4 is described. The explosive (RDX), plasticizer, and rubber binder are separated by selective solvent extraction and filtration, and the extracts are analyzed by multiple internal reflection infrared spectroscopy.
