    Abstract

The alkylammonium nitrate sensitizers contained in Du Pont and Hercules water gel explosives can be uniquely identified by utilizing the three thin-layer chromatography (TLC) systems discussed in this paper. These TLC methods also identify the presence of other explosive ingredients and contaminants commonly found in debris from bombings.
