    Abstract

Postmortem vitreous humor samples from alcoholic and other patients were compared. Zinc concentrations were lower in the alcoholic group of patients as compared to those who were not alcoholic. These findings support previous studies that indicate a decreased concentration of zinc in other body tissues and serum in alcoholic patients.
