Flexural Creep of a High-Fiber-Content Sheet Molding Compound Composite

CODEN: JCTRER

Abstract

This brief report describes the flexural creep behavior of a high-fiber-content sheet molding compound, known as HSMC. Such data are particularly useful when HSMC is being considered for automotive applications, for example in wheels or transmission crossmembers, where it is not uncommon to experience continuous temperatures as high as 100 to 150°C under normal operating conditions.
